About Us

WE’RE A BIG FAMILY OF PASSIONATE PEOPLE

Southern Italy throughout the ages has been a stomping ground for a wide array of different cultures. The Greeks, Romans, Muslims, Normans, Germans, French and Spanish have all battled over this region in the hopes to access its trade ports and flourishing farm lands. With all these different cultures flowing through the country; Southern Italy has become a melting pot of flavors and cuisines from those who have left their mark. However, impoverished by war and drawing from those different cultures, the people of Southern Italy improvised to make their simple dishes elegant, delicious and long lasting. The regions of Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia provide bountiful rich spices including oregano, cumin and fennel as well as an abundance of seafood and lush vegetables that make the whole of their dishes. At Peno, we stick to our Italian roots while also leaving our own mark as so many before us, embodying the “soul” of Southern Italy. Savor the experience of the new southern Italian soul food.

ANTIPASTA

  • Cheese Garlic Bread

    Mozzarella, pecorino and parmesan.

  • Bruschetta

    thick cut bread toasted and served with varying toppings. Contact merchant for seasonal selection. Tonight, tomato,onion and green pepper oregano

  • Sicilian Eggplant

    "lasagna style" baked eggplant with mixed cheeses, raisins, and pine nuts topped in a red sauce.

  • Italian Divorce Soup

    Orzo, garlic, greens, chicken stock, and a turkey/chicken meatball served with a crostini on top.

  • Braised Octopus

    spicy tomato broth, handmade Italian sausage, and braised octopus tentacles.

INSALATE

  • Italian Salad

    mixed greens such as escarole, radicchio, and endive topped with white onion, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and black pitted kalamata olives. white balsamic house dressing.

  • Beet & Goat Cheese Salad

    Roasted beets warmed with onions, served with a goat cheese ball rolled in pistachio crumbs, accompanied by a bed of spinach, topped with a balsamic vinaigrette.

  • Seafood Salad

    halibut, swordfish, calamari, shrimp, celery, onion, shredded lettuce, avocado, and lemon mogu.

    Wide pappardelle egg noodle, handmade sausage, prosciutto, roasted red peppers, fontinella cheese, and pistachios in a spicy tomato broth.

  • Spaghetti & Meatballs Pasta

    2 meatballs, spaghetti, red sauce, and toasted breadcrumbs with cheese.

  • Spaghetti Bolognese Pasta

    Ground beef, carrots, onions, spaghetti noodle, in a red sauce.

  • Shrimp Pasta w/ Pesto

    4 jumbo shrimp, oven- roasted tomatoes, spinach, black olives, onions, basil, linguine noodle, in a white wine, olive oil broth, topped with pesto.

  • Pasta Norma

    a vegetarian pasta: rigatoni noodle, baked eggplant, smoked mozzarella, baked in a tomato sauce.

  • Chicken Cannelloni

    handmade crepe style pasta stuffed with chicken and spinach topped with a bechamel with a red sauce on bottom

  • Mushroom Ravioli

    handmade ravioli filled with mushrooms served in in a garlic broth with oven roasted tomatoes and spinach.

ENTREES

  • Chicken Gremolata

    bone in chicken with the bone removed, topped with the gremolata seasoning which consists of lemon, mint, parsley, and caper mix, served on top of a fregola sarda noodle and seared off in a sherry tomato broth.

  • Lobster Pasta

    Lobster, arugula pesto, pasta, and a touch of red.

  • Fisherman Stew

    halibut, swordfish, muscles, clams, oven roasted tomatoes and spinach in a tomato saffron broth served with risotto rice, peas, and potatoes.

  • Trout

    risotto stuffed trout, served with a bed of greens topped with pine nuts.

  • Sicilian Eggplant

    lasagna style baked eggplant baked with mixed cheeses, raisins, and pine nuts, in a house made tomato sauce.

  • Tomato Basil Gnocchi

    Handmade potato dumplings with tomato basil sauce and handmade ricotta.

    a delicious chocolate cake, topped with a cherry.

  • Berries & Zabaione Custard

    mixed berries such as strawberries, blackberries, and blueberries topped with the italian custard like sauce "zabaione" with two lady-fingers.
